Aphelion Music AI Policy

Here at Aphelion Music, we have always been built upon our love for human-made, emotion-driven dance music. It is our pledge that we will be following those desires, and instituting a policy that clearly states:

We do not allow AI-generated or AI-assisted music on Aphelion.

This ethos guides us as a team, and as a community, and is shown clearly to be the right way to move forward. In a world where AI is being trained without permission off of real music & arts that have been created tirelessly by humans, we cannot in good conscience support it within our shows and promotional materials.

The Current Landscape

We have spent the past several months internally and behind the scenes speaking with artists, label managers, independent publishers, and everyone in between. It is obvious that in the current state of affairs, the conversation behind AI in music is deeply polarized. There is a large group of people who believes that AI is a threat to human creativity in the arts; not just music. There is also a group of people who believe that AI can be used to move the production of music forward and push creative boundaries further.

Our Position

1: We will be championing and pushing human-made music.
This will be our goal; first, foremost, and always. The heart and soul of dance music is the beauty of human expression, and that should never be put into jeopardy or taken away. Aphelion Music will forever remain a safe space for those who make their music themselves and pour their blood, sweat, & tears into every production.

2: Fully AI-generated songs sent via promo will be ignored.
Any songs we receive to be promoted that are found to be fully AI-generated will be ignored, and in most cases, the artist(s) will be blacklisted from appearing on Aphelion-related materials in the future.

3: All songs will be checked thoroughly to determine AI usage.
All songs submitted or used in shows will be checked thoroughly via a multi-leveled system to determine AI usage. If it is determined AI is used in a song, whether it be AI-assisted (vocals, melody, etc.) or fully AI-generated, then appropriate actions will be taken.
